strong and courageous: a study from The book of Joshua
The Israelites were lead out of their captivity in Egypt and brought into the desert under the leadership of a man named Moses. Due to their disobedience, the Israelites wandered the desert for 40 years. As the older generation of these traveling exiles begins to die off, so does their beloved leader Moses. After years of preparation and mentoring, Moses hands the reins over to a younger leader named Joshua. Read through Strong and Courageous to learn about Joshua's leadership skills, the Israelites obedience, and how God paved their way to the Promised Land.
The Israelites finally conquered the Promised Land through Joshua’s leadership. However, they were quickly going to lose it if they didn’t acknowledge the Lord in all their ways! After Israel would willfully enter a season of sinfulness, God would rise up a leader, or judge, and they would walk away from their rebellion. All for them to repeat the cycle once again. If you are tired of being on the hamster wheel of disobedience in your life, read through Judges to gain a greater understanding of God’s view of sin and freedom for those who repent.
