Anxiety | Day Four

By: Morgan Eseke

A.W. Tozer says, “The most important things about at person, is what (she) believes about God.” Gosh, this has been so true in my life!

The seasons of life when I believed (somewhat unconsciously) that God was fickle or harsh, my anxiety and worry went through the roof. I believed God was not worthy of my trust, so I resorted to control and perfectionism. I was worried about everything!  I was insecure, nervous, struggled with stress-induced migraines and illness.

Today, I believe with my whole heart that God is good. He is consistent, loving, strong enough to handle all my worries and has good plans for me. With this knowledge secure, I am now more confident and less fearful. I worry much less and laugh a lot more. Everything is different.

What do you believe about God? What characteristics would you use to describe Him? Take a few minutes to write down your thoughts.

Look up the following Scriptures and summarize what you learn about God from each:

Revelation 5:11-12 -

Jeremiah 10:12 -

1 John 4:10 -

Deuteronomy 7:9 -

Ephesians 2:4-5 -

One of the most effective ways to keep an eternal perspective during stressful times is to keep God’s Word on the top of your mind. It’s easy to think about our worries, but it takes discipline to meditate on God’s Word. I encourage you to pick one of the verses above to memorize this week.
